Objectives of Veterinary Laboratory, Biratnagar

1. To provide prompt and efficient disease diagnostic services to the farmers of the region.
2. To investigate and diagnose the epidemics in the region.
3. To assist and support VHLECs in disease diagnosis and epidemic control.
4. To supervise and assist in diagnostic services to basic and primary laboratories situated in VHLECs of the region.
5. To collect, analyze and predict the animal diseases prevailing in the region.
6. To develop human resources for the field level veterinary services.
7. To co-ordinate and support national animal disease control and eradication program.
8. To support and facilitate the national veterinary regulatory services.
9. To participate actively in collaborative and coordinated research program in animal health and production in the region.
10. To support animal health and infertility camps in the region.
11. To act as a provincial vaccine bank of Veterinary Vaccines for National Disease Control Program (FMD, PPR, CSF, HS&BQ and NDV).
